Matt L. Smith, Ed.L.D.

Dr. Matt L. Smith currently serves as Vice President of Strategy, Business Development and Partnerships (Southeast) at 806 Technologies, bringing more than 20 years of experience in educational leadership, data strategy, and district innovation to the role. His diverse professional background includes Teacher, Principal, Special Assistant to the Superintendent, and Interim Chief of Schools. Most recently, Dr. Smith served as Chief Performance Officer for Atlanta Public Schools, where he led the implementation of technology, data collection, and analysis systems that support student achievement and continuous improvement. He provided strategic direction for district-wide initiatives focused on leveraging data and innovation to strengthen instructional systems and outcomes for students. 

Dr. Smith earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Georgia, a Master of Arts in Teaching in Secondary Social Science from Mercer University, and an Education Specialist degree in Education Leadership from the University of West Georgia. He also holds a Doctor of Education Leadership (Ed.L.D.) from Harvard University. Outside of his professional work and the classroom, Dr. Smith enjoys spending weekends on sports fields with his wife and two sons, or looking for his golf ball in the woods.
